A newly launched startup, InfoArmy, applies the crowdsourcing model to research reports.  InfoArmy, the brainchild of Jim Fowler, relies on contributors, around 3,500 people, mostly professional researchers, to write reports on private companies.  Fowler’s focus for the reports is to show how a company has grown and changed over time.  “The value isn’t in the data…it’s in understanding the change in the data.”  Source: Research Startup Raises Money to Fund Its Army, Don Clark, WSJ.com.
