Bookish, a new ebook retail website, is backed by three of the largest U.S. publishers and is marketing itself “as more of a book discovery engine for readers” rather than a competitor of Amazon and other U.S. major booksellers. Bookish has built technology that will incorporate user data (books read and liked) to make recommendations. In addition, an editorial team will develop content to engage visitors in finding books. The team will write “articles about books and reading, making lists of must-read books and developing trend stories that look at books and current news and culture.” Bookish is partnering with USA Today (and The Onion) by syndicating content.  Source: Bookish Launches New Ebook Retail Website, by Jeremy Greenfield (digitalbookworld.com).
