Bruce Nussbaum is the author of the new book Creative Intelligence: Harnessing the Power to Create, Connect, and Inspire. Creative Intelligence is taking original ideas and scaling them into the creation of new products and services. Mr. Nussbaum shares with Time’s Anita Hamilton how each of us can cultivate our creative side:

  • We need to stop being hyperconnected and deliberately take a moment to be mindful about what we are doing
  • Collaboration fosters creativity more than often than working alone
  • To share best ideas you need “magic circles,” small groups of people who trust each other
  • To get out of a creative rut, find a creative friend to play with, travel, or see something that’s dramatically different and think about it
